The Office of Global Partnerships (GP) strives to advance the Department of State’s top foreign policy priorities through private sector engagement. 

The District of Columbia Office of Public-Private Partnerships (OP3) and The Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority (P3A) are examples of local authorities. 

Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) encourages the consideration of public-private partnerships (P3s) in the development of transportation improvements. 

There is no national PPP law for the United States and the regulatory framework for PPPs is contained in the the individual states’ laws.

Infrastructure Canada is a Government of Canada department responsible for public infrastructure in the country. Infrastructure BC is owned by the Province of British Columbia and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) supports the Ontario government’s initiatives to modernize and maximize the value of public infrastructure and real estate.

Canadian Council for PPPs (CCPPP) is a national not-for-profit non-partisan, member-based organization with broad representation from across the public and private sectors. 

Provincial bodies include Infrastructure Ontario, Partnerships BC, SaskBuilds, Alberta Infrastructure, Partnerships New Brunswick and the Société québécoise des infrastructures.  

At the municipal level, some municipalities have undertaken to develop their own projects, often implemented in partnership with the provincial agencies.

The PPP Law creates a PPP Authority regulating the PPP Law and approving the projects and a PPP National Secretariat (Secretaría Nacional de APP), as an administrative body.

The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, through the General Directorate of Public Investments, is in charge of the preparation and coordination of plans, policies and regulations. 

In 2016, Nicaragua passed the Public Private Partnership Law (Ley de Asociación Público Privada).

The Public Private Partnership Policy Framework is an institutional and legal outline which encourages the private sector to participate in the procurement and financing of public projects.
