Thimphu Thromde to give parking space with one hand but takes with another

Thimphu thromde announced the two MLCPs with the stated aim of reducing congestion and parking. The two MLCP’s was awarded by the Thimphu Thromde to KCR Pvt Limited in 2014.

MLCP I is near Zangtopelri includes design, construction and operation of a multi level car park of at least 350 parking space in an area of approximately 5,400 square meters.

MLCP II parking below IMTRAT includes design, construction and operation of a multi-level car parking of at least 200 vehicles on an area of approximately 3,000 square meters.

Delhi’s hi-tech ghost parking lots

The automated multi-level parking lots in the Capital were offered as a solution to the city’s problems of shrunken road space, increasing number of vehicles, and the resultant traffic snarls. They were developed under the respective municipal corporations of Delhi on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The lots, however, have had few takers. Most of these spaces are massively under-utilised, with less than 15-20 per cent of the space being used.

India’s GVK plans Indonesia’s first privately-built airport

The Indian conglomerate GVK is ready to invest $500m in developing a new, greenfield international airport in Indonesia, making it the country’s first built with private finance.

GVK will create a joint venture with Indonesian state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura I later this year to develop the airport in the province of Yogyakarta on the island of Java, reports Indonesia Investments.

Modern bus station to be established in Sheberghan

A modern bus station is to be built in Sheberghan city of Jawzjan province. This comes amid complaints from residents about the absence of a bus station in the city. Consisting of a canopy, 12 small shops, a restaurant, modern toilets and other facilities, the bus station, is expected to be complete in the next three months. Municipal adviser Mohammad Daud Amin Zai said the bus station would be built at a cost of USD 230,000.

Sheberghan Bus Terminal Includes Two Public-Private Partnerships

The opening of the bus terminal in Sheberghan City, made possible through the Regional Afghan Municipalities Program for Urban Populations (RAMP UP) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), represents an emerging trend of increasingly innovative uses of public-private partnerships by Afghan municipalities. Completed in record time, this new public facility was inaugurated on November 13, 2013, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by numerous provincial and municipal dignitaries, including the Honorable Bai Murad Qounly, Governor of Jawzjan Province.
