Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS)

The C3S Climate Data Store (CDS) is a one-stop shop for information about the climate: past, present and future. It provides easy access to a wide range of climate datasets via a searchable catalogue. An online toolbox is available that allows users to build workflows and applications suited to their needs

The CDS provides a single point of access to a wide range of quality-assured climate datasets distributed in the cloud. CDS datasets include observations, historical climate data records, estimates of Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) derived from Earth observations, global and regional climate reanalyses of past observations, seasonal forecasts and climate projections. Access to data is open, free and unrestricted.

Along with the data, the CDS includes a set of tools for analysing and predicting the impacts of climate change. Users of the CDS can access these tools to develop their own applications online.

The CDS has been designed to support a wide range of users with different needs, by facilitating the processing of large data volumes as well as the creation of simple visualisations based on multiple data sources.

CDS data and tools form the backbone of the C3S Sectoral Information System (SIS), which provides tools and applications for dealing with climate impact in different industrial sectors, including energy, water management and agriculture.
