Philippines National Transmission Corporation (“TransCo”)

The National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) is a government agency created under Republic Act No. 9136, otherwise known as the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) of 2001.

Since March 1, 2003, TransCo operated and managed the power transmission system that links power plants to the electric distribution utilities nationwide. The same law mandated the privatization of TransCo through an outright sale or management concession agreement.

Renewable Energy Policy Network (REN21)

REN21 was created in 2004 as an outcome of the Bonn2004 International Conference on Renewable Energy. This “coalition of the willing” came together with one objective in mind: to support and accelerate the development of renewable energy.

From the outset, REN21’s mandate has been to collect, consolidate and synthesise a vast body of renewable energy data to provide clear and reliable information on what is happening in real-time.

Australia Generator Connection Agreement

Generator Connection Agreement published by Transgrid (a transmission service provider in New South Wales, Australia) on its website. The agreement sets out the terms on which Transgrid provides transmission services to generator customers (including renewable power generators) on its transmission network. The electricity transmission and distribution networks in Australia are owned and operated by private players, who provide services on their networks under negotiated private contracts.

Philippines National Renewable Energy Program

The National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) outlines the policy framework enshrined in Republic Act 9513. It sets the strategic building blocks that will help the country achieve the goals set forth in the Renewable Energy Act of 2008. The NREP signals the country's big leap from fragmented and halting RE initiatives into a focused and sustained drive towards energy security and improved access to clean energy.
