The PPI Database represents the best efforts of a research team to compile publicly available information and should not be seen as a fully comprehensive resource. Some projects, particularly those involving local and small-scale operators, tend to be omitted because they are usually not reported by major news sources, databases, government websites, and other sources used by the PPI Projects Database staff.

A Toolkit for Corporate Workouts is a revised and updated version of the World Bank Group Insolvency & Debt Resolution team’s A Toolkit for Out-of-Court Workouts (2016).

Benchmarking Infrastructure Development 2020

Appropriate and effective regulatory frameworks remain crucial for ensuring that investments in infrastructure are done strategically and efficiently. Benchmarking infrastructure development 2020 assesses the regulatory quality for preparation, procurement, and management of large infrastructure projects through both public-private partnerships (PPPs) and traditional public investments (TPIs).

Enhancing Government Effectiveness and Transparency: The Fight Against Corruption

The report draws on the collective experts of staff across the World Bank to develop ways for enhancing the effectiveness of anti-corruption strategies in selected sectors and through targeted policy instruments. 

It covers issues, challenges and trends in five key thematic areas: Public Procurement; Public Infrastructure; State Owned Enterprises; Customs Administration; and Delivery of Services in selected sectors. 

Anticorruption Initiatives: Reaffirming Commitment to a Development Priority

Corruption continues to have a disproportionate impact on the poor and most vulnerable, increasing the cost of, and reducing access to, health, education, justice, electricity and other basic services, thereby exacerbating inequality. It reduces private investment as it increases risks for investors, with consequent effects on growth and jobs. It distorts public spending decisions and weakens the quality of public investments as substandard infrastructure gets built and the regulatory systems for quality control and safety are bypassed.
