A new legal framework on public-private partnerships entered into force in Romania on 18 May 2018. The Government Emergency Ordinance No. 39/2018 on public-private partnership, GEO No. 39/2018, replaces the previous PPP legislation, Law No. 233/2016.
PPP Law of 19 December 2008, Concession Law of 21 October 2016 and on 1 January 2021, the new law regulating public procurement came into force.
