Wembley Stadium reports successful year of concerts in 2019

The home of English football hosted 38 shows, shifting a total of 855,809 tickets for a total gross of $102.2m.

The 90,000-capacity venue’s hosted k-pop band BTS, which drew more than 115,000 tickets and grossed $13.5m. The Spice Girls sold 221,971 tickets and grossed $27.3m, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. Eagles, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi and Fleetwood Mac were among the other artists to play Wembley last summer.

Wembley also hosted Pink’s two-night sold out Beautiful Trauma run which grossed $16.5m.

In the 2017/18 season, Wembley Stadium connected by EE had its busiest year to date, hosting a record 58 events and over 4 million spectators. The world-class events at the iconic venue, included: Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, six England Men’s senior matches, two NFL games, the EFL Carabao Cup Final and EFL Playoff Finals and The Emirates FA Cup Semi-Finals and Final. St. George’s Park celebrated its fifth birthday in October 2017 and it continues to play a vital role in supporting all of the England teams.

Wembley concerts boost record FA revenue

The Football Association (FA), the owner of Wembley Stadium in London, posted record revenue of £370 million in the 2015–2016 financial year, bolstered by a packed events calendar at the 90,000-cap. stadium.

Turnover in the year ending 31 July 2016 grew 16.4%, from £318m in 2014–15, while the FA made an after-tax profit of £7m, compared to a £9m loss in the preceding 12 months.

Tata Power signs MoU with NAREDCO for 5,000 EV charging points

Tata Power has inked a pact with National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) to install 5,000 EV charging points across Maharashtra, a statement said on Thursday.

Tata Power will provide a comprehensive EV charging solutions across properties of member developers of NAREDCO.

This will include installation, maintenance, and up-gradation of the chargers as and when required.

Tata Power is central to the EV ecosystem ambitions of the 153-year-old conglomerate Tata Group. While Tata Motors rolls out EVs, Tata Chemicals makes lithium-ion cells, and Tata AutoComp assembles battery packs, Tata Power has been tasked with beefing up the charging infrastructure. Without this, all the other puzzle pieces don’t quite come together. But as much as the Tata Group needs Tata Power, it works the other way, too.

Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) Scheme - Phase I & II

The second phase (FAME II) is a 3-year subsidy programme. It aims at supporting the electrification of public and shared transportation: around 7,000 electric and hybrid buses, 500,000 lakh electric three wheelers, 55,000 electric four wheeler passenger cars, and 1 million electric two wheelers. 

The programme also finances charging infrastructures. Until July 2022, a total of 532 charging stations have been installed.
