Sierra Leone Local Content Agency Act

This Act was passed to provide development of all sectors of the economy through the incorporation of local content in their productive activities. The Act establishes several aspects of the local content inclusion process such as the Sierra Leone Local Content (SLC) Agency. It also creates a fund to support suppliers, exporters and importers; details provisions for employment and training of citizens; generates a SLC certification, scorecard, and a performance report; and establishes several rules for tendering processes.

Sierra Leone: Cape Sierra Hotel

Sierra Leone has been struggling to recover from a devastating civil war in the 1990s. One promising sector—tourism—has been held back by an acute shortage of quality hotels in the capital, Freetown. To address this problem, the government hired IFC as lead advisor for a public-private partnership to attract an international hotel operator to redevelop and operate the Cape Sierra Hotel.

PPP Unit Sierra Leone

The Government of Sierra Leone established the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Unit in the Office of the President under the PPP Act 2014.
