Victorian Desalination PPP

When built the facility - located at on the Bass Coast near Wonthaggi southern Victoria - will produce up to 150 billion litres of water a year, with the possibility of future expansion to 200 billion litres.

The plant will consist of:

  • 150 GL pa capacity desalination plant
  • intake and outlet tunnels, 85km transfer pipeline,
  • underground power transmission line and
  • 63MW wind farm to power the plant

Mitsui to Participate in Forestry Carbon Credit Investment in Australia

The total investment will be approximately AUD 50 million in the initial phase, and the total estimated volume of carbon offset contribution to be generated through plantation activities will be around 4 million tCO2e, which will be further scaled up to over 10 million tCO2e depending on the market demand. Mitsui aims to combine this low carbon investment with its forestry expertise and contribute to achieving net zero emissions of Mitsui group and its business partners by 2050.

With this new investment, Ontario Teachers’ will join KKR in supporting GreenCollar’s international expansion as well as its growth across water, nature and plastics. Just this year GreenCollar celebrated the establishment of the Reef Credits Registry, validating its foundational work in establishing a world-first water quality market targeting the Great Barrier Reef.
