State of Blended Finance 2024

The State of Blended Finance 2024 by Convergence introduces a two-report annual cycle, with a general market report each spring and a climate-focused edition in the fall.

This April edition provides insights into blended finance trends across sectors, regions, structures, and investor types, based on a database of 1,123 deals totaling $213 billion. Aimed at guiding both seasoned and new practitioners, the report emphasizes learning from past experiences to scale private capital mobilization in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs). It explores how regulatory regimes affect institutional investors, how investment activity is recorded, and evidence of non-blended investments catalyzed by blended finance.

The report encourages standardization and replication of high-impact solutions to maximize both financial and developmental returns while ensuring debt sustainability across 142 EMDEs.
