IFC's Blended Finance Program

IFC is a global leader in blended finance, using concessional donor funds to mobilize private investment in high-impact, challenging environments.

Since 2010, IFC has committed $5.9 billion to support 539 projects in over 95 countries, leveraging $32.6 billion in additional financing. Focus areas include agribusiness, climate, SME and gender finance, health, fragile economies, and refugee-related investments. Through partnerships with donors and development institutions—including the Global Agribusiness & Food Safety Program, multilateral climate funds, and the IDA Private Sector Window—IFC addresses market failures and de-risks investments to promote sustainability, inclusiveness, and private sector growth.

Blended finance enables critical services and infrastructure in low-income and fragile contexts while expanding access to credit and driving economic development across sectors.
