ALSF Academy

The ALSF Academy Capacity Building Portal is an innovative web-based platform which provides e-learning courses and related materials including comprehensive course handbooks, model agreements, practice guides and sector-specific publications.

The portal also includes discussion and networking capabilities allowing users to interact, collaborate and exchange knowledge, expertise and ideas.

The unique platform, developed specifically for African lawyers, government officials, academics, members of civil society and other key stakeholders, will serve as a one stop-shop for those wishing to improve their knowledge and skills in mining, oil & gas, power, infrastructure and PPPs, sovereign debt, dispute resolution and personal and professional development.

The African Legal Support Facility is an international organization hosted by the African Development Bank Group. The Facility is dedicated to providing legal advice and technical assistance to African countries in their negotiation of complex commercial transactions, creditor litigation and other related sovereign transactions. The ALSF also develops and proposes innovative tools for capacity building and knowledge management.

The materials for the ALSF Academy are developed in cooperation with world-class experts and key institutional partners including the East Africa Law Society (EALS), the Southern African Development Community Lawyers Association (SADCLA), the International Training Centre in Africa for Francophone Lawyers (CIFAF) and the African Business Law Firms Association (ABLFA). The ALSF also received support from the African Energy and Mineral Management Initiative (AEMI), the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), and other partner organisations that provide indispensable insight and support in the development of the e-learning courses and related materials.
