The Public-private partnership policy and implementation framework was adapted in 2009. In 2016 a PPP Unit was established within the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development to ensure successful implementation of the PPP Policy.

Public procurement in Botswana is mainly regulated by Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act and and Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations.
