Project Review Group (PRG)

Project Review Group (PRG)

The PRG oversaw the approval process for local authority PFI projects that received Government support through the previous PFI credit system.

The Treasury has revised its project approval processes as part of a wider programme of strengthened spending control. These revisions aim to provide a more coherent approvals and assurance framework, and make the tools the Treasury uses to approve Major Projects more consistent across Government. These revisions have included bringing the assurance and approvals processes previously completed by the PRG into a standardised Treasury Approval Point (TAP) process.
