The overall aim of this municipal PPPs program is to provide South African municipal managers, chief financial officers and chief engineers with key concepts, perspectives, tools and frameworks on PPPs. This at a time when municipalities are facing financial and capacity constraints to deliver services to a growing client base and have to actively engage public and private sector partners.

The program contains:

  • Cover the details of a proper PPP feasibility process
  • Highlight the possibilities in the municipal space with reference to;
  1. Procurement process
  2. Contract negotiation
  3. Contract management and monitoring
  • Present local case studies in respect of;
  1. Water & sanitation
  2. Solid waste
  3. Electricity and renewable energy o Property development
  • Allow for participants contribution and practical guidance to be informed by an international expert with hands on experience in management of public and private companies in energy, water, sewage, public lighting, waste and renewable energy
