This Act provides for the establishment of energy sector entities and regulates the production, supply and use of energy.  Additionally, it establishes the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority ("EPRA") as the successor to the Energy Regulatory Commission (“ERC”).

Like the ERC, the EPRA has explicit authority over imports and exports of electricity.  It also has an expanded mandate that includes regulation of upstream petroleum and coal.  Relevant regulations for petroleumelectricity and renewable energy can also be found on EPRA’s website.
