The Equator Principles

The Equator Principles recognize the importance of climate change and aim to avoid negative impacts on project-affected ecosystems, communities, and the climate where possible. If these impacts are unavoidable - they should be minimised, mitigated, and/or offset.  Annex A (Alternatives Analysis, Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission) deals specifically with climate change. Mandatory alternative analysis to evaluate options with lower project-related GHG emissions and/or reporting of carbon-intense is required or recommended depending on emission levels.
