Spanish Coastal Law

The aim of this law is to:

a) Determine the maritime-terrestrial public domain and ensure its integrity and adequate conservation, adopting, where appropriate, the necessary protection and restoration measures.

b) Guarantee the public use of the sea, its shoreline and the rest of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, with no exceptions other than those derived from duly justified public interest reasons.

c) Regulate the rational use of these assets in terms consistent with their nature, their purposes and with respect for the landscape, the environment and the historical heritage.

d) Achieve and maintain an adequate level of quality of the waters and the shoreline of the sea.
