Spain provides a good example of a developed civil law jurisdiction which has adopted a market-oriented approach to regulating of the power sector.
The principal piece of legislation regulating the Spanish electricity sector is Law 24/2013, of 26 December, on the electricity sector (“Law 24/2013”).
